Alassio and the English

Discover my British soul

I'm waitnig for you with a month full of events in perfect British Style: exhibitions, "made in England" cinema, readings, concerts and lots of curiosities about my Anglo-Saxon soul.

Let's take a step back in time? When the railway connected me to London, Paris and Nice, the world began to discover me. It was 1875 when the Gibb and Montagu Mac Murdo families spent the winter here, enchanted by my beach and mild climate. From that moment on, my destiny changed: from a simple fishing village, I became an elegant Victorian town, beloved by nobles, intellectuals and British travellers.

In May relive that magic: you will be able to breathe in the atmosphere of the time, discovering the iconic places of my British colony together with expert guides. I will reveal to you the English Library, the Richard West Memorial Gallery, the evocative Anglican Church and the marvellous gardens of Villa della Pergola, where nature, history and elegance come together amidst the colours and scents of flowers and rare exotic plants.

Every day at 5 p.m., I look forward to the traditional English Tea Time in the historic clubhouse of the Hanbury Tennis Club. A truly British experience with hot tea and old-time charm.

Come and experience my English May, and celebrate my long-standing British heritage through music, culture, and all the timeless charm of Old England.
