Alassio and the English

I'm waitnig for you with a month full of events in perfect British Style: exhibitions, "made in England" cinema, readings, concerts and lots of curiosities about my Anglo-Saxon soul.

Let's take a step back in time? It was 1875 when the arrival of the coastal railway connected me to the world. From a simple fishing village I became a refined Victorian-style town, a favourite destination for British intellectuals, aristocrats and tourists.

In May I will relive that magic with you: you will be able to breathe in the atmosphere of the time, discovering the iconic places of my British colony together with expert guides. I will reveal to you the English Library, the Richard West Memorial Gallery, the evocative Anglican Church and the marvellous gardens of Villa della Pergola, where nature, history and elegance come together amidst the colours and scents of flowers and rare exotic plants.

Every day at 5 p.m., I look forward to the traditional English Tea Time in the historic clubhouse of the Hanbury Tennis Club. A truly British experience with hot tea and old-time charm.
