Take part in the free dry stone wall building course and learn an ancient traditional technique recognised by UNESCO.
Guided by the master craftsmen from Arnasco Scuola di Muretti a Secco, in the green hills of Alassio, you will be able to build an authentic dry stone wall with your own hands.
The course combines theory and practice in two separate meetings; choose whether to participate in just one or both sessions:
- every Friday morning: theoretical lesson (duration: 2 hours)- every Saturday morning: practical lesson (duration: 3 hours)
You'll learn about the history of Ligurian terraces, the construction techniques and the importance of these structures in soil defense and landscape conservation.
Book, participate, and contribute to the preservation of ancient knowledge.
Wear closed shoes, preferably hiking boots
Bring a supply of water with you
Choose comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor activities
For the practical course on Saturday, it is advisable to travel by your own car
The theoretical session on Friday will take place even in case of bad weather
Meeting at the Church of Santissima Annunziata, Via Solva 167 - Fraz. Solva - Alassio
The participants will receive a small practical guide on building dry stone walls.
At the end of the Saturday practical course, an aperitif with focaccia and local wines will be offered.
