Starting from the Civic Library ‘R.Deaglio’ in the town centre, guided by the herbologist, forager and environmental hiking guide Laura Brattel, we’ll discover Alassio’s past by consulting local historical books. From here, we will walk to the Santa Croce promontory. If you wish, you can bring a book and choose a sentence to read at the end of the hike; a flower will be given to place in the book.

What we will see:
- We will start from the interior reading rooms of the civic library of Alassio, where we can consult books about the history of the town, with vintage photos (under the supervision of the librarian as the books remain in the library)
- We will see some of the places portrayed in the photos, read Alassio’s sayings along the way and talk about it's history and traditions
- We will observe wild and cultivated flowers we encounter along the way
- We will reach the promontory of Santa Croce, where we’ll learn the story of the small church on the rock
- Each person will be invited to bring a book with them, from which they will read a significant sentence or passage; Laura, the guide, will bring along flowers that will be offered to those present, so that everyone can place one between the pages of their book

Closed, comfortable shoes. Bring a supply of water if needed.
