Let us take you on a journey through art, nature trails and breathtaking views in the hills above Alassio.
The project “E siediti un attimo” – “Take a Seat for a Moment” – was created to invite you to slow down, breathe deeply, and truly take in the surrounding beauty.

With a touch of artistic creativity, a group of talented artists have given new life to old, forgotten chairs – transforming them into small works of art. You’ll find eight artist-designed chairs along the Sentiero dell’Onda hiking trail, and another four near Monte Castellaro, all set among scenic viewpoints, peaceful landscapes and unspoilt nature.

Walking these trails is like stepping into an open-air art gallery. As you hike through the hills of Liguria, colourful chairs appear like surprises along the way – each set against a backdrop that looks like a painting.
Each chair tells a story. By scanning the QR codes placed on each seat, you can learn more about the artists behind the project: Monica Cecchin (creator of the initiative), Sabrina Marchiano, Andrea Sangalli, Aurora Tacchi, Danilo Viviani, Francesca Criscione, Franco Ravera, Gio Berti, Marco Breeuwer, Lafoz, Susanna Lanati and Angelo Toffoletto.

So lace up your walking boots and get ready for an unforgettable hiking experience in Alassio.
You can choose to hike the full Sentiero dell’Onda, take the path up Monte Castellaro, or simply walk part of the way, reaching the artist chairs along the trail.
Every route is a path through beauty and creativity – a perfect escape for lovers of slow tourism, art in nature, and outdoor adventures in the Ligurian hills.
